About

Edmund Nilson is an associate at Rogers Partners LLP. His practice covers a broad range of civil litigation matters, including insurance defence, commercial disputes, construction law, medical malpractice, labour and employment issues, and appellate work. Edmund brings strong analytical skills, careful attention to detail, and a practical, client-focused approach to every file.

Before joining Rogers Partners, Edmund articled at a national law firm, where he gained experience across multiple litigation areas. He supported counsel at all stages of proceedings.

During law school, Edmund was active in advocacy and academic initiatives. He competed in the Adam F. Fanaki Competition Law Moot, where his team won best overall team, best respondent team, and best respondent factum. He also served as an Associate Editor for the University of Toronto Law Review and contributed to research projects through the Future of Law Lab. Edmund participated in the 1L Trial Advocacy Program and remained active in the law school community through intramural sports and moot coaching.

Edmund earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where he received the Alexander C. Pathy Q.C. Prize in Labour Relations Law. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in History with International Relations from the University of British Columbia, achieving Dean’s List standing each year and receiving several academic awards and scholarships for excellence and research.

Edmund is proficient in French. Outside of the office, he enjoys reading science fiction and fantasy, hiking, bouldering, and skiing.
